Accommodation and Travel Information

Hotel: Rooms for Speakers and Attendees have been booked in the Ramada-Treff Hotel "Rheingold" (Address: Austrasse 2/Unteres Tor, 95445 Bayreuth, Phone: *049 (0)921 7565-0, Fax: *049 (0)921 7565-801; link to the hotel web page).  The hotel is located in the center of Bayreuth, close to the train station (Hauptbahnhof, Hbf) and close to the central bus station (ZOH) located at the Marketplace.

Speakers and recipients of accommodation grants do not need to take further action. These reservations do not need to be confirmed and will be charged directly to the organizers.

All other participants have to confirm their reseration at the hotel until July 15th (otherwise the reservation will be void after this date). Please send a fax message (Fax Hotel Rheingold: *49 (0)921 7565-801) or an email (email Hotel  Rheingold: reservierung.rheingold@treff-hotels.de) stating your name and the keyword "BaCaTeC Summer School, October 3-8 2004". The special rates for the Summer School for single rooms are 51 € per night and 35.50 € per person and night for a shared double room. Rates include an international breakfast buffet. Parking will be charged extra.
 

Travel Information:

Arrival by car: Bayreuth is reached best via highway A9. The hotel can be reached from both highway exits "Bayreuth süd" and "Bayreuth nord". Click here for a map how to reach Hotel Rheingold. A detailed map of Bayreuth is available via this link.

Arrival by train: From the train station it is about 1.5 km (20min) walk to the Hotel (map). A bus stop as well a taxi station are located in front of the train station.

Bus: General information on bus schedules is available here. It is best to take line 2 or line 5 (line A on Sunday afternoon) and to leave the bus at the Market (ZOH). From there it is a 500 m (10 min) walk to the hotel (map). The conference location at the University in building NWII, room H18 (upper floor) can be reached by line 4 or line 6 (enter bus at the central bus station ZOH on the market) or line C (Sunday afternoon).

Free Shuttle Service: A free bus shuttle will be available for transportation from the hotel to the conference location on Sunday afternoon leaving at Hotel Rheingold at 3:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. The bus will also pick up participants at the train station at 2:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
The free bus shuttle will be availeble througout the summer school to pick up participants and speakers at the hotel after breakfast and bring them back in the evening.
